I am married and have two grown up children and two grandchildren. I work full time for Alabare Christian Care and Support who support vulnerable throughout the city and further afield and am a Trustee of the Salisbury Foodbank. My family have lived in Salisbury for the past 40 years + having moved from London. My husband was in Local Government for his whole career and I spent about 14 years as a Local Government Officer with Salisbury District Council before it amalgamated with Wiltshire Council. I have been involved with various groups across the city over the past years and have attended St Mark’s Church for about the same time. I have been involved in community activities in the Bishopdown/St Mark’s area through my church helping to run all kinds of events.

My personal passion is music and I would really like to see Salisbury become a City of Music – we have so many different types of music in the city – young rock bands, choirs, jazz bands, blues bands, choral groups. My other passion is support for young people in any relevant way. I love their straight talking, honest opinions on all kinds of subjects but this can sometimes be uncomfortable!

The wider area of my interests are transport and pedestrianisation and I would like to see Salisbury be a City where those who want to travel through can do so without jams, those who want to visit for the day can stop off at the park and ride and those of us who are locals enjoy the city and wander around the streets freely. I recently took my granddaughter who is three to the Cathedral to pray for her; she hadn’t ever been to a “church” before and marvelled at the windows, space, people and especially the food in the Refectory afterwards!

Aren’t we fortunate to have such a wonderful city in which to live? Let’s all work together to make it amazing for everyone.
