Mayor of the City of Salisbury 2019 - 2021

The Mayor of Salisbury 2019 2020 Cllr John WalshSalisbury City Council is delighted to announce the election of Councillor Mr John Walsh as the 759th The Right Worshipful the Mayor of the City of Salisbury.

The event on Saturday 18 May 2019, was attended by over 200 Civic Dignitaries including Mayors from neighbouring towns, cities and overseas, including our twin city in Xanten, who witnessed the handover of the Mayoral Chain from Cllr Mr Mike Osment to Cllr Mr John Walsh.

Cllr Walsh said, “Like many ex-servicemen and women I settled in Salisbury in 1992, after touring the world with my parents and then with my own family. Salisbury’s citizens have made me and my family very welcome and in a small way I hope to repay that kindness by celebrating and promoting the City in every way I can during my time as Mayor.”

The Mayor’s Charity for 2019 - 2021 will be South Wilts Mencap, the Mayor said, “I have been associated with this marvellous local charity, which was founded by local parents 60 years ago, for more than 20 years and have been involved in several ways over that time. It gives me great pleasure to support them in their 60th Anniversary Year.”

The Mayor will be supported during his Mayoral Years by the Mayoress Mrs Carrie Walsh.

The Mayoral Scout will be Philippa from Alderbury Scout Group, with Reserve Scout Ruaridh.

The Deputy Mayor for 2019 – 2021 is Cllr Caroline Corbin.
