Please continue to be Covid aware and help stop the spread of Covid-19

on Thursday, 14 January 2021.

The UK is now in a national lockdown following the spike in Covid-19 cases. It is very important that everyone follows the government guidance in order to help stop the spread of the virus and the increasing pressure on the NHS.

The number of people with Covid-19 is rising rapidly. There has been nearly 2,000 cases in the past 7 days in Wiltshire, particularly in those aged 20-29. It is vital that we stay at home to protect the NHS and save lives.

Remember to look out for the following symptoms of Coronavirus:
• A high temperature
• A new and continuous cough
• a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste
If you experience any of these symptoms, make sure you isolate and get a test as soon as possible.

Please continue to be vigilant and Covid aware to help stop the spread of the virus.

Leader of the City Council, Cllr Liz Sirman said, “The new Covid variant has meant that cases are increasing sharply. Please act as if you have the virus and follow the government’s restrictions. It is imperative that we all help the NHS by staying at home, we cannot allow Salisbury District Hospital to be overcome by cases.”
