Salisbury’s annual Charter Fair will visit the City from 21 – 23 October in the Market Place and Guildhall Square. The funfair will be officially opened at 12 noon on 21 October by The Mayor of the City of Salisbury, Councillor Mrs Penny Brown and will run for three days.
City Clerk for the Council, Reg Williams said, “Once again we look forward to welcoming the annual Charter Fair to Salisbury which has become an eagerly anticipated family tradition for many.”
This year the fair will showcase the ‘Tango’ which is an extreme ride that will spin its riders high above the Guildhall Square. Families will be able to enjoy a wide variety of traditional and modern rides and children’s rides are only £1 per person before 6pm.
Also running for the duration of the funfair is a FREE exhibition of ‘Salisbury Fair from days gone by’ with photos and other memorabilia on display. The funfair exhibition will be held in the Crown Court of the Guildhall, and open from 9am to 5pm daily, from 21 – 23 October. There will be a representative from Fairground Heritage on hand to answer any questions you may have so do pop in to see traditional memorabilia and photographs from bygone fairground days.
