Following the huge success of our first two Teenage Markets, Salisbury City Council & The Unit are now planning their third market to take place on Sunday 26 October from 11am – 3pm in the Market Place, Salisbury.
The Teenage Market has become hugely popular and offers a unique opportunity by providing a FREE platform for young people under the age of 30 to be entrepreneurial, try out new business ideas and sell creative products. Items sold include anything from home baked delicious treats, intricately designed T-shirts, hand crafted ceramics, leather jackets and exquisite jewellery to beautifully illustrated cards and lots more.
The market also hosts a live performance stage, giving a much needed platform to local performers and community groups to showcase their unique talents in the city centre. Performances can range from acoustic acts to walk about theatre, to beat boxing and loop artists. To get a real impression of the market watch our promotional video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZ85OhvSC3g shot by a young film maker Tom Askew-Miller.
Salisbury City Council and The Unit are now looking to create and set up a Teenage Market Event Team to help run the market. So if you are interested in event management, music, business, stage management and marketing or have an exciting idea to add to this market please get in touch.
We would also be interested to hear from young people who would like to promote their creative skills and run a workshop at our next market. This could be anything from offering make-up sessions and hairdressing to leading dance or craft workshops. With just a month to go the next market, there are also a few market stalls left and performance slots available. To apply to trade or perform at this event please sign up and create a profile online at www.theteenagemarket.co.uk.
