Salisbury City Council’s Music in the Park concerts start this Sunday in Queen Elizabeth Gardens with the popular and lively street carnival-style band, Casa de Samba from 2pm until 4pm.

Salisbury’s Illuminated Carnival will take place on Friday 23 October at 7.30pm and organisers Salisbury City Council are encouraging the local community to get involved by taking part in this year’s procession.

Salisbury City Council have organised a number of markets in Salisbury’s Market Place and Guildhall Square this June.
The Farmers’ & Artisan Markets continue on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 10am and showcases local producers offering a wide range of food and craft items that are made within a 50 mile radius of the City.

Market Place are all set to arrive in Guildhall Square in Salisbury this Spring for another exciting continental market! Market Place shall be bringing a fantastic number of global traders to the Square from Sunday 24th May to Bank Holiday Monday 25th May 2015.

Salisbury Business improvement (BID) and Salisbury City Council (SCC) are working in partnership on an exciting new initiative to decorate the City this summer. The first phase of the project begins today (20 May 2015) with the arrival of a number of topiary displays in the City. Alongside the topiary will be the summer hanging baskets and planters across the City plus later next month the arrival of flags and lamp post banners.

Salisbury City Council is pleased to launch this year’s summer competitions.
For the green fingered there is the City Garden’s Competition. Entries for gardens of all shapes and sizes are welcome. Judges are keen to see private gardeners, pubs, B&Bs, schools and anyone who tends an open space submitting an entry. Last year’s competition saw Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards go to gardens ranging from a wall of colourful hanging baskets to extensive hotel grounds with lots of gems in between!
