As summer draws to a close Salisbury City Council continue to organise more Markets this year for everyone to look forward to in Salisbury’s Market Place.

Scaffolding has started to be erected around The Guildhall, Salisbury in advance of essential roof repair work due to commence in approximately six weeks’ time. 

Salisbury City Council have employed contractors, Ellis & Co Ltd, to replace and repair the roof and high level masonry. A temporary roof will be constructed to protect the building whilst the roof is repaired, with scaffolding on all four sides of the building. The masonry repairs will cover improvements at high level as well as around the main entrance area.  The entire project is expected to take 39 weeks.

Heritage Open Days has become a four-day festival celebrating England's local history and giving access to thousands of places usually closed to the public. As part of this celebration Salisbury City Council is to open two of its lesser known properties:

Salisbury Summer Spectacular takes place at Hudson’s Field, Salisbury on Saturday the 22 August from 2pm until 10pm.

The event organised by Salisbury City Council is FREE to attend.

Bride and Grooms to be are encouraged to attend The Guildhall – Salisbury Wedding Fair on Sunday 6 September 2015. The Wedding Fair will showcase over thirty stands featuring the finest local wedding suppliers.

The popular bi-annual Salisbury Summer Spectacular takes place in just over two weeks on Saturday 22 August at Hudson’s Field in Salisbury.

The event organised by Salisbury City Council is FREE to attend and is on from 2pm – 10pm.

With the summer in full swing Salisbury City Council continues to present a fantastic selection of markets and music for all to enjoy this August.

Salisbury City Council require a specialist contractor for the firework finale at this years Summer Spectacular event at Hudsons Field on Saturday 22 August 2015.   This firework finale will fire at 10pm and last approximately 3 minutes to provide a spectacular aerial display as well as signalling the end of the event.

Salisbury City Council are pleased to announce that they will be coordinating the first Bemerton Heath 5k Fun Run which is set to take place on Sunday 4 October 2015.

Wednesday 5th August will see an even bigger and better Salisbury Playday return in a new location at Churchill Gardens. Playday is the national day for play in the UK, traditionally held on the first Wednesday in August, and when thousands of children and their families get out to play at hundreds of community events.

Salisbury City Council are delighted to announce that the final phase of the replacement to the Boardwalk at the Avon Valley Nature Reserve is due to commence this week.

With the summer season now in full swing, Salisbury City Council continues to provide a fabulous range of markets in the city centre, alongside the regular Charter Market on a Tuesday and a Saturday.

Salisbury City Council has bid a fond farewell to Senior Grounds Operative Bob Skutt who retires this week after 49 years of service to Salisbury’s parks and green spaces.
