As part of Salisbury City Council’s Community bulb planting scheme, 7,000 bluebell bulbs were recently planted in Milford Hollow, Salisbury by local residents and City Council staff.

Remembrance Sunday will be observed in Salisbury Market Place and Guildhall Square on Sunday 8 November 2015.
The ceremony, led by the Salisbury Branch of the Royal British Legion and supported by Salisbury City Council, will commemorate the service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

Last Friday (23 October) thousands of people lined the City streets of Salisbury to watch Salisbury Carnival 2015.
This year over 40 entries from both Wessex Carnival Circuit and local community groups took part in the illuminated procession.

Salisbury’s annual illuminated carnival, organised by Salisbury City Council, will take place around the streets of the city on Friday 23 October.

Salisbury’s annual Charter Fair will return to the City from Sunday 18 October until Wednesday 21 October.
This year, the funfair for all the family will officially open on the Sunday at 5pm, and will then continue daily from 11am until late, showcasing traditional and modern rides, stalls and attractions.

Sunday 25 October sees the last of the Teenage Markets in Salisbury this year. The market is run by Salisbury City Council and is held in the Market Place from 11am – 3pm.

Salisbury City Council celebrated winners in this year’s Allotment, Scarecrow and Gardens Competition at an awards ceremony at The Guildhall last Wednesday 16 September. Certificates and prizes were presented by the Mayor of the City of Salisbury, Councillor Andrew Roberts.

Mouth-watering family cookery and fun activities are being provided in the run up to the half term for families in Bemerton, near Salisbury.
The six-week initiative is being led by Radian, one of the south’s leading housing, care and support providers, as part of the Bemerton Heath Interagency Group, which also includes Salisbury City Council.

Macklin Road Play Area is set to reopen on Tuesday 15 September at 3.30pm following a complete refurbishment by Salisbury City Council.
The Play Area was transferred from Wiltshire Council to the City Council in 2014 with £60,000 for improvements.
