Public Notice: Wiltshire Search and Rescue exercise in Salisbury on 20th October 2019

On 20th October 2019, from 09.00 until mid afternoon volunteers from Wiltshire Search and Rescue will be undertaking a scenario-based training exercise in Salisbury, centred around Queen Elizabeth Gardens. The exercise is designed to train volunteers on searching for a vulnerable missing person and also what to do once the person has been found. This is one of a number of exercises that the team undertake every year to ensure that they are skilled in a number of different search techniques, medical interventions and partnership working.

The city of Salisbury is set to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country at its Annual Remembrance Sunday Service at the War Memorial in Salisbury Market Place on Sunday 10 November from 11am.

The Community Team who run the club are proud to boast that it still has many of its original members. The success has gone from strength to strength and has led to many other spin off activities.

Salisbury’s spectacular illuminated Carnival will be returning this year on Friday 25 October between 7.30pm and 9pm. This highly popular event draws in crowds by the thousands across the city’s streets with floats, music and walkabout acts with something to entertain the whole family. Celebrating its 10th year, Salisbury Carnival will raise funds for the Mayor of Salisbury’s charity - South Wilts Mencap.
