The Salisbury Big Business Event is back in 2017 and will be coming to Salisbury from the 25 – 27 April in The Guildhall and Market Place. This event is organised by Salisbury City Council, Wiltshire Council, Salisbury Federation of Small Businesses, Salisbury Business Improvement District, Blue Frontier, Salisbury Journal and Salisbury Chamber of Commerce and is now in its sixth year.

Armistice Day

Armistice Day is today. The Act of Remembrance will be led by The Royal British Legion at 11.00am. All are welcome to gather on the Guildhall Square in front of the War Memorial to pay their respects.

Salisbury City Council staff will be observing a 2 minute silence for Armistice Day.

Winner of The Mayor of Salisbury Christmas Card Competition announced

This year the Mayor of Salisbury, Cllr Derek Brown OBE held a Christmas card competition and encouraged local children up to the age of 13 years old to design his annual Christmas Card. The cards will be sent locally and to overseas destinations such as the Sister Cities in Maryland USA and the Twinning Cities of both Xanten and Saintes.

A new cleaning and weeding regime for Salisbury

On Friday 21 October thousands of people lined the City streets of Salisbury to watch Salisbury Carnival 2016.

This year 47 entries from both Wessex Carnival Circuit, the business community and local community groups took part in the illuminated procession.

Memorandum of Understanding signed by council leaders as transfer of facilities and assets moves forward

Leaders of Wiltshire Council and Salisbury City Council today signed a Memorandum of Understanding which sets out the terms for the transfer of responsibility for a package of buildings, facilities, assets and services to the city.

Baroness Scott of Bybrook, OBE, Leader of Wiltshire Council and Cllr Andrew Roberts Leader of Salisbury City Council signed the key document at the Guildhall.
