The Mayor attends many civic and community engagements throughout the year and we would like to make it as easy as possible for you to invite him to your event. You will find some guidance on this page, but please don’t hesitate to contact the Corporate Services Department if you need any more information.

Before you invite the Mayor, it may be useful to ask yourself the following questions. This will help us to make sure that the Mayor is fully informed about your occasion and aware of what is expected of him. Why would you like the Mayor to attend? What would you like him to do at the event? What is the purpose of the Mayor attending?

Please download, complete and return this Mayoral engagement form along with your invitation. Alternatively, we can arrange to send a copy to you in the post.

Any extra information you can provide on the form will be most appreciated; this will go to help to ensure that your event runs as smoothly as possible and you get the most out of your time with the Mayor.

Invitations are generally accepted on a first come, first served basis however preference will be given to events within the City. To avoid disappointment, please try to make your request as early as possible – the more notice you give the better, as the Mayor’s diary does fill up quickly.

If for any reason the Mayor is unable to attend, your invitation will be passed to the Deputy Mayor if deemed appropriate.

Please send all invitations and any other Mayoral correspondence to:
