Bourne Hill Gardens

About our Area:

Bourne Hill grounds are one of the most informal and natural areas within the centre of Salisbury, with an abundance of trees, shrubs, flowers and wildlife. With the exception of the lawn area and the flower beds, the grounds have a rugged, wild feel, with the greater part having been allowed to develop and grow with little contrivance and very few trappings.

The medieval ramparts of Salisbury ran through these gardens and although little of historical significance is visible a small monument can be found on one of the footpaths

There are no real facilities in Bourne Hill Gardens, although the inclines leading up to the higher ground are an interesting feature and offer plenty of possibilities for leisure and play.

The Gardens have been used for organised family activities in the past, and are currently used annually by ‘Parklife’ – a day of entertainment run by the local community.
