Charter Fair

The Salisbury Charter Fair will return to Salisbury’s Market Place & Guildhall Square.

In 1227 - seven years after the building of Salisbury Cathedral began - King Henry III granted a Charter to the Bishop of Salisbury to hold a fair on the third Monday in October. That same Charter granted the City permission to hold a market every Tuesday. Both Charter Market and Annual Fair are still held to this very day.

The Charter Fair will take place on the following dates:

Sunday 14 October from 4pm until 9pm
Monday 15 October until Wednesday 17 October from 11am - 10pm

Charter Fair Fees

Fair rides are charged between £2,000 and £45 for a stall depending on size of stall/ride and nature of the stall/ride, following an historical and known charging pattern
Fair Rides are VAT Exempt
