Salisbury City Council is running a community project titled ‘Salisbury Remembers’ as a fitting tribute to all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The art installation will result in a large poppy display in the Guildhall, Salisbury in time for Remembrance Sunday in November 2017.
The installation will be made up from knitted, crocheted and plastic poppies that the community have created over the next coming months.
Bottle poppy workshops will be held at various Council events during the summer encouraging children to get involved. The Council however wishes to receive as many poppies as possible in order to make a wonderful display.
To get involved visit http://www.salisburycitycouncil.gov.uk/s/salisbury-remembers and download a knitting or crochet pattern and hand in your poppy to Salisbury Information Centre in Fish Row, Salisbury Shopmobility in the Maltings or at Bemerton Heath Community Centre.
We will need all poppies to be submitted by Friday 27th October.
Volunteers are also required to help install the poppies on Saturday 28th October 2017 in Salisbury Guildhall anytime from 10am—4:00pm.
For more information and to volunteer for the 28 October please contact the Council’s Community Development Team on 01722 417100
