Salisbury City News

The latest updates and news related to the city of Salisbury and the council.

It is just over a week to go until Salisbury Celebrates the Diamond Jubilee; a free, family fun day on Monday 4 June, 2pm – 10.30pm at Hudson’s Field. Salisbury City Council, organisers of this event, have put together an amazing programme for the day, and there is certainly something for everyone!

The event promises to provide lots of exciting things to see and do.  It will feature free activities for children, a food and craft village, live music, jousting and falconry displays plus the Red Devil parachute display team culminating in a grand firework finale and the lighting of the official Salisbury Jubilee beacon at Old Sarum.

The slide in Churchill Gardens has been removed as part of our planned redevelopment of this play space. The slide is set to be replaced by two new slides and additional play equipment due to commence in Summer 2012.

Salisbury City Council and Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival are excited to be working with Chivitz, a Brazilian street artist, in painting a number of the features at the skatepark in Churchill Gardens.

Chivitz will be painting in Churchill Gardens from Sunday 27 May, likely for three days, so if you would like to see him while he paints then head across to the park.

To see more examples of Chivitz’ work visit his exhibition at Salisbury Arts Centre.
