Today marks the launch of an exciting new website for Salisbury.
www.christmasinsalisbury.co.uk is set to provide a one stop shop for all things festive this Christmas for both residents and visitors to the City.
The idea was borne by local business men and women have pulled together to promote Salisbury over the festive season.Following a recent meeting of Salisbury City Centre Management businesses the general feeling was Salisbury had to lift itself from the negative impact parking charges had on the City and its footfall, so a decision was made to come together and ensure that Salisbury is firmly back on the map in time for Christmas.
The group consists of local media, business managers, business organisations and business owners who have all contributed either time, money or both to this festive marketing scheme. The website is the first real phase of the advertising campaign and will be closely followed by a radio campaign on Jack FM, followed by leaflets and posters across the City and further afield.
Samantha Peters – City Hall’s Sales & Marketing Manager said, “This has been a great example of partnership working and we are really impressed with how quickly this project has come together.”
The website also has a competition to win the stocking, which is a bumper selection of tickets and gifts one lucky winner could take home this Christmas. All the prizes have been donated by shops and businesses in and around the City.
The group are also quick to assure that this is not the end of the project and just the beginning, Claire Burden Business Manager for Salisbury City Council said, “This really is the first phase in a collaborative marketing campaign for the City, the idea will be to build on this project and run seasonal promotion of the City and what it has to offer to the potential visitor. The vision of this project has always been to entice shoppers from neighbouring towns and cities and then remind our own residents why Salisbury is unique.”
The group are looking at additional ways to promote the City over the festive season and would be keen to hear from businesses who feel they can help financially.
