A little goes a long way thanks to the community grant funding scheme run by Salisbury City Council.
“Many of our valued, local community groups secured much needed funding earlier this year thanks to our City grant scheme”, said Annie Scadden, Community Development Officer for Salisbury City Council. “We were able to fund projects like a new fire alarm system for the Burnbake Trust along with a project to create an inspirational space involving all members of the community at River Bourne Community Farm, and other worthwhile schemes and initiatives for us all to benefit from”.
Now it’s time to get your application to the City Council for the next tranche of funding for our City community groups and organisations. Harnham Watermeadows Trust did just that and received £600 towards re-establishing ancient hedgerows and wildlife corridors across Harnham Water Meadows.
Community groups and organisations who are interested in applying should contact Annie Scadden on 01722 342866.
Full details on the application process and the criteria and details of past benefactors are available at www.salisburycitycouncil.gov.uk. Closing date for applications is 31 June 2011.
