Parks Community Grant Scheme

The Parks Community Grants Scheme (PCGS) was set up to help fund community events and projects that encourage people to get out and enjoy Salisbury’s parks and open spaces, from fun days to fetes and picnics.

Here's a glimpse of some of this year's successful applicants

We have £5,000 of funding available, so if you’re planning an event now – or you've always wanted to organise one – read on......

Who is the scheme aimed at?

Community groups and voluntary groups organising events or projects that encourage people to be more active in the city’s parks and open spaces.

You can download a simple checklist from this page to see if you or your group is eligible to apply for a grant. If you would prefer a paper version of this document please contact us. Important This checklist is a guide not a guarantee - it will only indicate if your group is likely to be eligible for a grant.

How much could we get?

The total grant fund available is £5,000 per year. There is no minimum award, but the maximum individual award is £750.00. Applicants may apply for more than one grant per year, but other awards that year will be taken into consideration when the panel make their decision.

When is the deadline?

The deadline for 2012 applications is Wednesday 14 March 2012.

Okay then - how do we apply?
Step 1
Download the 2013 Application Form here

Otherwise get in touch and we’ll send you out an application form The application form contains information about the scheme, including terms and conditions, so should answer any questions that you may have.

Step 2

Send your completed paperwork to Parks Department, The Guildhall, Market Place, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP1 1JH or email it to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Step 3

We’ll make an initial assessment of your application. If there are any problems with your application or we have any queries about it we’ll contact you; we’ll aim to do this within 10 working days of receiving your application.

Step 4

During April Councillors and Officers review applications (final decisions regarding whether an award is made rests with Councillors), after which we will contact you in writing to let you know whether you have been successful. If you have been awarded a grant we will then send you a cheque or arrange for a BACS transfer.

Is there anything else I need to know?

We will ask successful applicants to complete another form after their event/project, to see how our money was spent and to check on how things went.

We will send you a copy with your successful award letter as a matter of course. We ask that you complete and return this form within 14 working days of the finish of your event/project.
