Market Place are delighted to work in partnership with Salisbury City Council to host a two-day International Market on 28th and 29th May 2017 in the Market Place and Guildhall Square.
The Market will be bursting with flavour and a wonderful variety of crafts from across the world. There is something for the whole family!
Just some of the tasty flavours which will be drawing in visitors include Catalan trader Sol Solet Partners serving up some amazing tapas dishes The Greek Grill House will be serving up traditional Greek cuisine including Gyros, Souvlaki, and Greek pies, a German Schwenkgrill, which the Vikings actually created as they would cook sausages on their ships to ensure they didn’t fall, you can try traditional Bratwurst, Krakauer and for the more adventurous, Currywurst, also there is delicious French crepes and Galettes, and the famous Dutch mini Pofitjes with a selection of mouth-watering toppings and for the more exotic taste buds meats of the world will be serving up Ostrich and Kangaroo burgers and even Crocodile so if you ordering some crocodile you can always say make it snappy.
Operations Manager, Chris Hulley said it’s a real pleasure to be part of such a great bank holiday weekend the City is full of fun, with entertainment including, live acts, art, music and much more, having such a great location to hold an event like this makes Salisbury the envy of many a town and city and we are proud to be part of it with our Award winning international market.
And whilst you meander around the stalls, sampling the great Fresh Food products on offer, including Contemporary premium range of cheeses, each item of the range has its own distinct flavour and character. You can relax and browse some of the great Craft and Gift stalls including South American Jewellery and Knitwear, Italian Silk Scarves, Handmade Amber which is sourced via the Baltic Sea, crystal and gemstone jewellery. For the children (even the adults) Art Vikings, will be selling a fine selection of traditional Viking products from wooden tankards to Viking jewellery, some of them real collector’s pieces’ worth hundreds of pounds and of course the famous Dutch Plant Garden selling a huge array of shrubs, bulbs, beautiful plants and trees with some great garden ornaments even Giant Windmills!!
As part of the Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival, there will be free street theatre, dance, circus and music in the city centre across the two days.
